This isn't fawning, it could just be a digestive problem...
I have only recently noticed that Mignuna is sitting high and on the right hand side of the JU throne. She is second in ranking. That's right. Second!
I was both overjoyed and astonished that such a thing has happened.
Firstly, I was overjoyed as Mig is a close and dear friend of mine. The closest and dearest friend i have. Seeing as i am a misanthropist at best and just plain nasty at best, this is an achievement that stands irrespective of whatever else she accomplishes (don't underestimate this point until you have met me in person, these are not idle words).
Secondly, and for this i will revert to the trusted high school competence of point form, i am astonished because she has achieved this
*In spite of not being featured (why this is the case is beyond comprehension or forgiveness)
*In spite of not being gratuitously sensationalist
*In spite of being talented
*In spite of being both a female and blindingly intelligent
*In spite of the intimidation that this almost invariably breeds
*In spite of an aversion to artiface or obfuscation
*In spite of being nice to all and sundry regardless of race, religion, creed, ideology, personal hygiene, glaring perversions and capacity for instigating annoyance
*In spite of not sinking to the level of swampish animosity and the slinging of anything, insults or mud, take your pick.
This is in no way definitive or comprehensive. It's not meant to be. Mig is not someone that requires commentary or a post of this kind. She stands quite alone in her talents and inextricably connected by her humanity, humanism and all embracing generosity and compassion.
I didn't want to gush, but how can you not
As a note: This article does not intend to imply that the other holders of top ten positions partake in any of the negative behaviours listed above. All those in the top ten are deserving of their place for their own reasons and merits (many that are listed above in the positive). I focus on Mig because she is a friend and i know how hard she works, not only for herself but for her readers and the JU community in general. This would be a poorer place without her, but this does not detract from the contributions of others. In coming here we can never subtract from the inherent goodness and justice in open and honest discourse, we can only ever add to it, it is always only a matter of degree.
